Measures reported by BasicBattStatusTest

The BasicBattStatusTest reports on the status of the batteries used for a monitored APC UPS device.

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
Battery_status Indicates the current status of the UPS batteries   This measure reports the following states while indicating the current status of the UPS batteries.
  • Battery low
  • Unknown
  • Battery normal
The numeric values that correspond to the above-mentioned states are as follows:

0 Battery low
1 Unknown
100 Battery normal

Note:

By default, this measure reports the above-mentioned states while indicating the current status of the UPS batteries. However, the graph of this measure will be represented using the corresponding numeric equivalents of the states as mentioned in the table above.

A batteryLow value indicates that the UPS will be unable to sustain the current load, and its services will be lost if power is not restored. Also a low battery indicates that the acid level in the battery may be low, battery may be weak, etc. The amount of run time in reserve at the time of low battery can be configured by the upsAdvConfigLowBatteryRunTime.
