Measures reported by ErrorReportTest AIX provides comprehensive logging of events-some are errors requiring attention and others are just notifications.AIX offers different logs depending on the action and when it occurred. These logs hold information on the boot-up process, console, hardware and system software events. These erros are generally categorized in to three types Permanent, Temporary, and Informational. The errpt command generates an error report from entries in an error log. This test reads this error report generated and reports the number of errors of each type logged in the error log file. This way, administrators may identify the error type that is more critical and take remedial measures to rectify the same before any severe issue crops up! This test is disabled by default. To enable the test, go to the ENABLE / DISABLE TESTS page using the menu sequence : Agents -> Tests -> Enable/Disable, pick AIX as the Component type, Performance as the Test type, choose this test from the DISABLED TESTS list, and click on the << button to move the test to the ENABLED TESTS list.
