Measures reported by ChstyPwrSuplyTest

Often, sudden failure of the power supplies of storage nodes can cause the storage system to crash, leading to critical loss of data. To avoid this, you need to keep an eye on the state of each power supply unit. This can be achieved using the ChstyPwrSuplyTest. This test auto-discovers the power supplies on the target storage system and reports the current state and output power of each power supply unit. Using this test, power supplies that are down can be detected with ease.

Outputs of the test : One set of results for every power supply on the target storage system being monitored.

The measures made by this test are as follows:

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
Power_state Indicates the current status of this power supply.   The values reported by this measure and its numeric equivalents are mentioned in the table below:

Measure Value Numeric Value
Down 0
OK 1

Note:

By default, this measure reports the above-mentioned Measure Values displayed in the table above to indicate the current state of each power supply. In the graph of this measure however, the same is represented using the numeric equivalents only.
Output_power Indicates how much power is flowing out of this power supply. Watts The value of this measure should be in the permissible range.
