Measures reported by CouchDBShrCachtest Shared cache can be accessed by multiple cores. Since it is shared, each block in the cache is unique and therefore has a larger hit rate as there will be no duplicate blocks. However, data-access latency can increase as multiple cores try to access the same cache. This test reports the rate of hits on the shared cache, the rate of shared cache that were missed and were totally evicted. By keeping an eye on these metrics over time, administrators can proactively detect a consistent drop in cache hits, investigate the reasons for the same, and promptly initiate measures to improve cache usage and safeguard the server performance.
