Measures reported by SapRoutStTest

SAP router is an SAP program that can protect your SAP network against unauthorized access. It is a stand-alone program that is normally installed on the system with the firewall. SAProuter is an SAP program that acts as an intermediate station (proxy) in a network connection between SAP systems, or between SAP systems and external networks. SAProuter controls the access to your network (application level gateway), and, as such, is a useful enhancement to an existing firewall system (port filter).

It is not always possible for the IP addresses to be unique, particularly in the case of a connection between two networks that do not normally have an external connection. SAProuter enables two points with identical IP addresses to be connected. Thus unavailability of the SAProuter can cause to bottlenecks in network connectivity and data transmission. This test reveals the current status of the SAProuter and reports whether the router is available or not. This test also monitors the uptime of SAProuter.

Outputs of the test : One set of results for the SAProuter being monitored.

The measures made by this test are as follows:

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
IsAvailable Indicates whether this SAProuter is available or not.   The values reported by this measure and their numeric equivalents are available in the table below:

Measure Value Numeric Value
Yes 1
No 0

Note:

By default, this measure reports the above-mentioned Measure Values to indicate the current state of the SAProuter. The graph of this measure however, is represented using the numeric equivalents only i.e., 0 or 1.

The detailed diagnosis of this measure lists an error message if the state of the SAProuter is No.
Uptime Indicates the time elapsed since this SAProuter was started. Minutes The value of this measure is a clearly indicates the time elapsed since this SAProuter was started.
