Measures reported by ARSWTempStatTest

A sudden/gradual increase in the temperature of the target switch may cause serious damage to the hardware components of the switch. This is why, administrators should continuously monitor the temperature of the switch. The ARSWTempStatTest helps administrators in this regard!

This test reports the current temperature status of the switch. Using this test administrators are alerted to temperature sensor failures, critical temperature thresholds and overheating of the hardware components.

Outputs of the test : One set of results for the target Arista Switch that is to be monitored.

The measures made by this test are as follows:

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
dStatus Indicates the current temperature status of the switch.   The values that this measure can report and their corresponding numeric values are as follows:

Measure Value Numeric Value
Unknown 0
Ok 1
Overheating 2
Critical 3
Sensor failed 4

Note:

By default, this measure reports the Measure Values listed in the table above to indicate the current temperature status of the switch. In the graph of this measure however, the same will be represented using the numeric equivalents only.
