Measures reported by IBSmaPortTest
A Subnet Manager Agent (SMA) port is a port on which a SMA is deployed. Since all the connections between the subnet manager (SM) and other components of the InfiniBand Switch run through the SMA ports, all the connections will get suspended if one/more SMA ports are rendered slow or unavailable or non-operational for a brief period. It is hence imperative that the administrators be promptly alerted when the SMA ports start behaving abnormally so that, remedial measures can be initiated instantaneously to avoid a prolonged port outage.
This test auto-discovers the SMA ports on the target switch and continuously monitors the physical status and the status of links of each of the SMA ports, and sends out proactive alerts to potential performance anomalies. In addition, this test also reveals the speed of the SMA link and maximum transmission unit (MTU) enabled for each SMA port.
Outputs of the test :One set of results for each SMA port on the InfiniBand Switch to be monitored.
