Measures reported by YMRLoginTest

One of the reasons why users opt for Microsoft Yammer is that it enables them to quickly and securely share their knowledge/ideas with their peers in the organization. If the users take too long to login into Microsoft Yammer or frequent login failures are encountered by the users, the user experience will suffer forcing administrators to discontinue the service of Microsoft Yammer in their organization. To avoid such unpleasant experience and to deliver guaranteed Yammer service levels at all times, administrators need to periodically check the time it takes for a user to loginto Microsoft Yammer, identify login failures proactively, and plug the holes before users complain. The YMRLoginTest test helps administrators in this exercise.

At configured intervals, this test emulates a user login to Microsoft Yammer and reports the time it takes to login into Microsoft Yammer. This provides administrators with early indicators of problem conditions, thus enabling them to resolve the problem before any irrepairable damage is done.

Outputs of the test : One set of results for the monitored Microsoft Yammer.

The measures made by this test are as follows:

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
Login_status Indicates whether/not a user login to the Microsoft Yammer was successful.   The values that this measure can report and their corresponding numeric values are discussed in the table below:

Measure Value Numeric Value
Success 1
Failed 0

Note:

By default, this measure reports the Measure Values discussed in the table above. However, in the graph of this measure, the user logon status is indicated using the numeric equivalents only.

Login_time Indicates the time taken by a user to login into Microsoft Yammer. Seconds Ideally, the value of this measure should be low. A high value is indicative of a poor user experience while logging into Microsoft Yammer. The reasons for the same should be investigated.
