The event type may either be predictive failure of the disk or the degraded I/O event of the disk. When such types of events are generated, the Operating system automatically recovers the maximum amount of data from the affected disks and stores in a spare disk.
Ideally, the value of this measure should be zero. A high value is an indication of performance degradation of the disk.
