Default Parameters for LHClusterPerfTest

This test reports how well the cluster handles the I/O requests it receives. In addition, this test also reveals the time taken by the cluster to complete the read and write operations and the number of I/O operations that are pending on the cluster. This way, the test helps administrators to find out the processing bottleneck (if any) and take remedial actions before the slowness in I/O processing affects the performance of the storage system.

This page depicts the default parameters that need to be configured for the LHClusterPerfTest test.

  • The TEST PERIOD list box helps the user to decide how often this test needs to be executed.

  • The eG agent uses the command-line interface, CLIQ.exe, to communicate with and monitor the storage cluster. To enable the eG agent to invoke the CLI, configure the full path to the CLI in the CLI PATH text box.

  • Specify the credentials of a user who can execute the CLIQ.exe on the host that is connected with the storage cluster in the USERNAME and PASSWORD text boxes.

  • Confirm the password by retyping it in the CONFIRM PASSWORD text box.

  • Specify the duration (in seconds) beyond which the test will timeout in the TIMEOUT text box. The default value is 60 seconds.

  • Once the above values are provided, click on the UPDATE button to register the changes made.

When changing default configurations of tests, the values with “$” indicate variables that will be replaced by the eG system according to the specific server being managed - for instance, $hostName is the host/nickname of the target host, $port is the port number of the server being monitored. E.g., for a server xyz:80, $hostName will be changed automatically by the eG manager to “xyz*” and $port will be changed to “80” when configuring a test.
