Default Parameters for ADUsersTest

This test reports the status of user accounts configured in the Active Directory server and thus, quickly points you to ‘unused’ accounts that can be deleted to make room for those that are actively used.

This page depicts the default parameters that need to be configured for the ADUsersTest.

  • The TEST PERIOD list box helps the user to decide how often this test needs to be executed.

  • Specify number of days in INACTIVE DAYS text box beyond which the Active Directory users should be identified as inactive. By default, this is set to 90.

  • By default, SHOW USERS parameter is set to No indicating that this test will not report the detailed diagnosis for the Total Users measure by default. However, if you wish to view the detailed diagnosis for the Total Users measure, set this flag to Yes

  • The DD FREQUENCY refers to the frequency with which detailed diagnosis measures are to be generated for this test. The default is 4:1. This indicates that, by default, detailed measures will be generated every fourth time this test runs, and also every time the test detects a problem. You can modify this frequency, if you so desire. Also, if you intend to disable the detailed diagnosis capability for this test, you can do so by specifying none against DD FREQUENCY.

  • The DETAILED DIAGNOSIS makes diagnosis more efficient and accurate, the eG Enterprise embeds an optional detailed diagnostic capability. With this capability, the eG agents can be configured to run detailed, more elaborate tests as and when specific problems are detected. To enable the detailed diagnosis capability of this test for a particular server, choose the On option. To disable the capability, click on the Off option.

The option to selectively enable/disable the detailed diagnosis capability will be available only if the following conditions are fulfilled:

    • The eG manager license should allow the detailed diagnosis capability
    • Both the normal and abnormal frequencies configured for the detailed diagnosis measures should not be 0

When changing default configurations of tests, the values with “$” indicate variables that will be replaced by the eG system according to the specific server being managed - for instance, $hostName is the host/nickname of the target host, $port is the port number of the server being monitored. E.g., for a server xyz:80, $hostName will be changed automatically by the eG manager to “xyz” and $port will be changed to “80” when configuring a test.
