This page depicts the list of tests
associated with a Windows Generic Server. They are:
-
Many server
applications in Windows environments run as background services. The WinServiceTest
checks the availability of the service that corresponds to an
application.
-
The ProcessTest
measures statistics pertaining to one or more processes corresponding
to the selected server.
-
The AppProcessTest is used to monitor processes that are not expected to be running on a server (like cmstart.exe on Citrix), but which show an unusual change in the number of processes or their resource usage when problem situations occur. This test is disabled by default.
-
The LogMonitorTest monitors the log files of the Windows generic server for specific error patterns. This test is disabled by default.
-
The TcpPortStatusTest tracks various statistics pertaining to TCP
connections to and from a host, from an external perspective.
-
The TcpTest tracks
various statistics pertaining to TCP connections to and from a host.
-
The TcpTrafficTest monitors the TCP protocol traffic to and from a
server, and particularly measures the percentage of retransmissions.
-
The NetworkTest monitors the network connectivity between a host and the eG manager.
-
The
NetworkTrafficTest measures the traffic received and transmitted by a
host system via each of its network interfaces.
-
The
WinNetworkTrafficTest monitors the incoming and outgoing traffic through a Microsoft Windows server.
-
The SystemTest is an operating-system specific test that collects various metrics pertaining to the CPU and memory usage of a host.
-
The DiskActivityTest reports statistics pertaining to the input/output utilization of every disk partition on a system.
-
The DiskSpaceTest monitors the space utilization of every disk partition on a system.
-
The PageFileTest tracks the usage of each of each of the page files
on a Windows server.
The WinSvcStatusTest discovers all the automatic services on a host, reports their status, and automatically restarts the services that have stopped. This test is disabled by default.
The required tests can be selected by
enabling the check boxes available beside the tests. The CONFIGURE
DEFAULT button beside each test enables user to configure the
default parameters pertaining to the test. The parameter values for the tests can be modified for
specific servers using the CONFIGURE / COMPONENT button. The UPDATE button as always helps the users to
register the changes made.
