Default Parameters for AS400SubSystemTest

This test monitors the subsystems on the AS400 server and reports the number of active and inactive subsystems.

This page depicts the default parameters that need to be configured for the AS400SubSystemTest.

  • The TEST PERIOD list box helps the user to decide how often this test needs to be executed.

  • This test connects to the AS400 server being monitored to extract the required metrics. Therefore, specify the name of the AS400 server to connect to in the SERVERNAME text box.

  • This test connects to the AS400 server being monitored to extract the required metrics from it. Hence, in the USERID text box, specify a valid user ID for logging into the AS400 server.

  • Provide the PASSWORD that corresponds to the specified USERID.

  • Confirm the password by retyping it in the CONFIRM PASSWORD text box.

  • By default, the SHOW ACTIVE DD flag is set to No, indicating that the detailed metrics will not be available by default for the Active_subsystems measure reported by this test. To ensure that this test collects detailed metrics for this measure, set this flag to Yes.

  • Once the above values are provided, click on the UPDATE button to register the changes made.

When changing default configurations of tests, the values with “$” indicate variables that will be replaced by the eG system according to the specific server being managed - for instance, $hostName is the host/nickname of the target host, $port is the port number of the server being monitored. E.g., for a server xyz:80, $hostName will be changed automatically by the eG manager to “xyz*” and $port will be changed to “80” when configuring a test.
