Default Parameters for EMCCtraPoolTest

The purpose of the test is to identify the health of nodes, the health of disks, and capacity available on the pool, the insights from the analysis of metrics can help administrators to plan maintenance of the pool if required and adding/removing capacity as guided by business requirement.

This page depicts the default parameters that need to be configured for the EMCCtraPoolTest.

  • The TEST PERIOD list box helps the user to decide how often this test needs to be executed.

  • In order to monitor an EMC Centera Storage, the eG agent has to be configured with the credentials of a read only user. Specify the login credentials of such a user in the USER AND PASSWORD text boxes.

  • Confirm the password by retyping it in the CONFIRM PASSWORD text box.
  • Provide the path of CenteraViewer on agent host in CERTERAVIEWER JAR PATH. CenteraViewer is installed along with CenteraCLI. By default the installation path is C:\Program Files\EMC\Centera\2_4\SystemOperator\lib\CenteraViewer.jar

  • Specify the time duration (in seconds) beyond which this test should time out in the TIMEOUT SECONDS text box. The default is 120 seconds.

  • Once the necessary values have been provided, clicking on the UPDATE button will register the changes made.

When changing default configurations of tests, the values with “$” indicate variables that will be replaced by the eG system according to the specific server being managed - for instance, $hostName is the host/nickname of the target host, $port is the port number of the server being monitored. E.g., for a server xyz:80, $hostName will be changed automatically by the eG manager to “xyz*” and $port will be changed to “80” when configuring a test.
