Default Parameters for HPStOCatlystTest

This test reports the current status of the StoreOnce Catalyst service in real-time, thus proactively alerting administrators to service degradation. This test additionally reveals health of the StoreOnce Catalyst service, thus promptly bringing abnormalities to the attention of administrators. This will enable administrators to initiate corrective action and bring the health of the StoreOnce Catalyst to normal.

This page depicts the default parameters that need to be configured for the HPStOCatlystTest.

• The TEST PERIOD list box helps the user to decide how often this test needs to be executed.

• By default, the eG agent executes REST APIs on the target HPE StoreOnce Backup system to collect the required metrics. For the eG agent to execute the REST APIs, a special user with user role is required. Specify the credentials of such a user in the USERNAME and PASSWORD text boxes.

• Confirm the password by retyping it in the CONFIRM PASSWORD text box. 

• Specify the duration (in seconds) beyond which the test will timeout in TIMEOUT SECONDS text box. The default value is 120 seconds.

• A service set is a collection of services such as Virtual Tape Library(VTL), Network Attached Storage(NAS), Replication and StoreOnce Catalyst. There is one instance of each service per service set. By default, the target HPE StoreOnce Backup system is associated with a service set. Therefore, the SERVICE SET parameter is set to 1 by default. If you are monitoring multiple HPE Storeonce Backup systems in your environment, then, specify the exact number associated with the SERVICE SET that is assigned to each HPE StoreOnce Backup system that is to be monitored.

• Once the necessary values have been provided, clicking on the UPDATE button will register the changes made.

When changing default configurations of tests, the values with “$” indicate variables that will be replaced by the eG system according to the specific server being managed - for instance, $hostName is the host/nickname of the target host, $port is the port number of the server being monitored. E.g., for a server xyz:80, $hostName will be changed automatically by the eG manager to “xyz*” and $port will be changed to “80” when configuring a test.
