Measures reported by CacheSysTest

Using the CacheSysTest, you can monitor the following:

  • the users to the database instance
  • the database and routine caching activities performed by the Cache database instance
  • the license usage of the database instance
  • errors (if any) that have been logged

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
Current_users The number of users who are currently using this database instance Number This is a good indicator of server load.
Routine_cache_size The current size of the routine cache MB Ideally, this value should be high. A well-sized routine cache can serve a large number of routine loads, thereby considerably reducing direct disk accesses.
Database_cache_size The current size of the database cache MB Ideally, this value should be high. A well-sized database cache can serve a large number of requests, thereby considerably reducing direct disk accesses.
Licenses_used The number of licenses currently used by this database instance Number  
License_usage_peak The high water-mark of the license usage for this database instance Number An abnormally high value could be a cause for concern, and could hence require further investigation. Alternatively, this could also be an effective indicator of the popularity of the database instance, and might have to be considered while planning the future license requirements.
Error_status The last 'severe' error message logged in the console log for this Cache instance Boolean
