Measures reported by CtxXcXDTrafficTest

Communication between tiers in the Citrix Virtual Apps environment involve a majority of the processing time. Communication bottlenecks is one of the common reasons for poor connectivity, slowdowns and data loss on the target server. Frequent/prolonged breaks, imposed due to latencies, in communication may result in delays/failures in the delivery of critical data, thus impacting user experience and productivity. To ensure the speedy communication and better user experience, latencies in the tiers should be proactively spotted and resolved at the earliest. The Citrix Communications test helps administrators in this regard!

This test auto-discovers the tiers engaged in communication on the target Virtual Apps server and, for each tier, reports average and maximum latency reported during communication. In addition, this test also reveals the number of connections established for communication on each tier. This helps administrators to instantly know the connection load on each tier.

Outputs of the test: One set of results for each tier on the Citrix Virtual Apps Server that is to be monitored.

Descriptor: Tier

The measures made by this test are as follows:

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
Latency Indicates the average latency of this tier. Milliseconds

Max_latency Indicates the maximum latency reported on this tier. Milliseconds

Comparing the value of this measure across the tiers will reveal the tier that experiences maximum latency.

No_connections Indicates the number of connections established in this tier. Number

Compare the value of this measure across tiers will reveal the tier in which maximum number of connections are being established.
