Measures reported by LVXCResPlyTest

XClarity Controller lets you configure and manage the Power Restore policy as well. Power Restore policy governs how the server will behave when the power is restored after a power loss. Generally following three options are available in XClarity controller to configure:

  • Always Off - The server will remain powered off even when power is restored.

  • Restore - The server will automatically be powered on when power is restored if the server was powered on at the time that the power failure occurred. Otherwise, the server power will remain off when power is restored.

  • Always On - The server will automatically power on when power is restored.

Administrators should always be aware of behavior of the server when power is restored, and in case the behaviour is not as expected due to power restore policy not active, they should be the first to know that.

This test auto-discovers the power restore policy available with XClarity Controller and reports the status of policy.

Outputs of the test: One set of results for XClarity Controller.

The measures made by this test are as follows:

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
policy Indicates the current status of power usage policy.

The values reported by this measure and its numeric equivalents are mentioned in the table below:

Measure Value Numeric Value
Always Off 0
Restore 1
Always On 2

Note:

By default, this measure reports the Measure Values listed in the table above to indicate the current status of this fan. The graph of this measure, however, represents the status of the fan using the numeric equivalents only.

delay Indicates if there should be a delay in turning on the server in case the status is always on, or status is restore and the server was on before power outage.

Disabled - Power on the server without delay after AC is restored.

Random - Provide a random delay between 1 and 15 seconds from the time when AC is restored to the time when the server is automatically powered on.

The values reported by this measure and its numeric equivalents are mentioned in the table below:

Measure Value Numeric Value
Disabled 0
Random 1

Note:

By default, this measure reports the Measure Values listed in the table above to indicate the current status of this fan. The graph of this measure, however, represents the status of the fan using the numeric equivalents only.
