Configuring Servers to be added to a Tier

This page appears when the icon adjacent to the tier name in the QUICK INSIGHT DESIGN VIEW page is clicked. This page simplifies the process of adding multiple servers to a tier.

By default, ALL option will be chosen from the Component type list of this page. The Available Components list box will list all the components managed in the target enviornment. If you choose a particular Component Type, then, the Available Components section will list the components pertaining to that Component Type alone. First, select a component(s) from the Available components list. Then, click on the > icon to add the components to the Server at tier list. For example, to add a component pertaining to the Citrix XenServer component type to a tier, select ‘Xen virtual server’ as the Component type. Then, select the components of your choice from the Available components list. If this tier has been configured to hold a maximum of 4 servers, then, 4 [ADD SERVER] options will be available in the Servers at tier list. Select 4 components from the Available Components option, and click the > button to add the 4 components to the Server at tier list. Finally, click the Update button to save the changes. The Components will be added to the tier and displayed in the QUICK INSIGHT DESIGN VIEW page. To remove the component from the Server at tier list, select the components that need to be removed. Then, click on the < button. Clicking the Update button will register the changes.
