Memory usage is an important index to evaluate the WLAN Controller's performance. A high memory usage will cause service faults and will seriously injure the operational ability of the controller. To avoid such bottlenecks, you have to constantly monitor the memory utilization of the target wireless LAN controller. This is where the CisWLCMemUseTest helps. This test tracks the memory usage of the target WLAN controller over time, and alerts you to potential memory contentions. The test also reports the current memory utilization of the controller, so that sudden spikes in memory usage can be promptly captured.

The measures made by this test are as follows:

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
currMemUsage Indicates the current memory utilization of the WLAN Controller. Percent If this measure reports an unusually high value, it could mean that CPU usage of the controller has spiked suddenly.
avgMemUsage Indicates the average memory utilization of the WLAN Controller. Percent Ideally, the value of this measure should be low. A very high value of this measure could indicate excessive memory consumption by the WLAN Controller, which in turn, could warrant further investigation.
