Measures reported by CtxPVSNetworkTest

Citrix Provisioning server streams shared disk images to the target devices through different networks such as UDP, TCP, etc. These networks connect to the XenApp server and stream images to the target devices. Continuous image streaming relies on uninterrupted connection between the networks and the XenApp server. If the networks disconnect or reconnect more frequently, then the images will not be delivered to the target devices as and when required. This in turn will seriously impact the functioning of the operating system and other applications that are streamed as images by the PVS server. To ensure uninterrupted streaming, administrators should continuously monitor the networks that stream images to the target devices. This can be easily done using the CtxPVSNetworkTest.

This test auto-discovers the PVS networks that stream shared disk images to the target XenApp server, and reports the number of times each network tried to reconnect to the XenApp server. This test auto-discovers the PVS networks that stream shared disk images to the target XenApp server, and how many times each network tried to reconnect to the XenApp server.

Outputs of the test: One set of results for each PVS network that streams images to the target devices on the XenApp server

Descriptor: PVS Network

The measures made by this test are as follows:

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
Server_reconnect Indicates the number of times that this PVS network tried to reconnect to the target server. Number

UDP_retry Indicates the number of times that this PVS network retried to connect to the target server via the UDP protocol. Number
