Measures reported by CtxNsIpSecTest

The IP security (IPSec) is an Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) standard suite of protocols between 2 communication points across the IP network that provide data authentication, integrity, and confidentiality. It also defines the encrypted, decrypted and authenticated packets.

Use this test to know how much data and how many packets were received and transmitted by the Citrix ADC appliance over IPSec. This way, you can determine the load that was imposed on your network by IPSec.

Outputs of the test: One set of results for the Citrix ADC VPX/MPX appliance being monitored.

The measures made by this test are as follows:

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
dataRecvd Indicates the amount of data received during IPSec sessions. MB

These measures are good indicators of the load imposed by IPSec sessions on the NetScaler appliance.

bytesSent Indicates the amount of data transmitted during IPSec sessions. MB

These measures are good indicators of the load imposed by IPSec sessions on the NetScaler appliance.

Total_pkts_recvd Indicates the number of packets received during IPSec sessions. Number

These measures are good indicators of the load imposed by IPSec sessions on the NetScaler appliance.

Tot_pkts_sent Indicates the number of packets sent during IPSec sessions. Number

These measures are good indicators of the load imposed by IPSec sessions on the NetScaler appliance.
