Measures reported by RadADWSDAppTest
An Application server is modelled as a Load Balancer member. If the application servers are assigned to different farms having the same name IP address and Port, they are treated as a load balancer member.
This test monitors the inconsistencies in bandwidth, monitors the health of each application server and reveals how well each application server processes client requests. In addition, this test detects inconsistencies in load-balancing early on and warns administrators of possible deviations proactively.
Outputs of the test: One set of results for each Application server configured on the target Radware Appdirector that is to be monitored.
Descriptor: Application server
The measures made by this test are as follows:
| Measurement |
Description |
Measurement Unit |
Interpretation |
| operStatus |
Indicates the current operational status of this application server. |
|
The values reported by this measure and its numeric equivalents are mentioned in the table below:
| Measure Value |
Numeric Value |
| Active |
1 |
| Not in Service |
2 |
| No New Sessions |
3 |
| In Recovery |
4 |
Note:
By default, this measure reports the Measure Values listed in the table above to indicate the current operational status of each application server. However, the graph of this measure is represented using the numeric equivalents only i.e., 1 to 4.
|
| adminStatus |
Indicates the administrative status of this application server. |
|
The values reported by this measure and its numeric equivalents are mentioned in the table below:
| Measure Value |
Numeric Value |
| Enabled |
1 |
| Disabled |
2 |
| Shutdown |
3 |
Note:
By default, this measure reports the Measure Values listed in the table above to indicate the current administrative status of this application server. However, the graph of this measure is represented using the numeric equivalents only i.e., 1 to 3.
|
| usCurrAccSer |
Indicates the number of users currently accessing this application server. |
Number |
This measure is a good indicator of the load on the application servers.
Compare the value of this measure across application servers to identify the application server that is accessed by maximum number of users.
An unusually high value for this measure is a cause of concern and may sometimes attribute to a malware attack on the application server.
|
| frameSent |
Indicates the rate at which frames were transmitted from this application server during the last measurement period. |
Frames/second |
Compare the value of this measure across application servers to identify the application server that is transmitting maximum number of frames per second.
|
| serBandwid |
Indicates the bandwidth of this application server. |
Percent |
Compare the value of this measure across application servers to identify the application server that is consuming maximum bandwidth.
