Measures reported by CisSDWMemoryTest
This test auto-discovers the components of the target Cisco SD-WAN and for each component, reports the memory utilization. Using this test, administrators can be proactively alerted to the component that is causing potential resource contention.
Outputs of the test : One set of results for each component of the target Cisco SD-WAN being monitored.
The measures made by this test are as follows:
| Measurement |
Description |
Measurement Unit |
Interpretation |
| Total_memory |
Indicates the total memory allocated to this component. |
GB |
|
| Used_memory |
Indicates the amount of memory that is already utilized by this component. |
GB |
A value close to the Total memory indicates that the component is running out of memory resources. Administrators are required to add additional memory resources. |
| Free_memory |
Indicates the amount memory available for use in this component. |
GB |
A sudden decrease in this value could indicate an unexpected/sporadic spike in the memory utilization of the component. A consistent decrease however could indicate a gradual, yet steady erosion of memory resources, and is hence a cause for concern. |
| Cached_memory |
Indicates the amount of cached memory allocated to this component. |
GB |
|
| Buffered_memory |
Indicates the amount of buffer memory available for this component. |
GB |
|
| Memory_utilization |
Indicates the percentage of memory utilized by this component. |
Percent |
Compare the value of this measure across components to identify the component that is facing potential
memory crunch.
A value close to 100 indicates that the components are facing severe memory contention. Administrators need to analyze such memory contentions and add additional memory resources as and when required. |
