To avoid data loss in an environment, it is essential to periodically backup the SAP database. Administrators should be aware of when exactly the last backup of the SAP database was done so that they can periodically schedule backups. The AsSysDBBkUpTest test helps administrators in this regard!

Using this test, administrators can figure out the days that had elapsed since the last backup of the SAP database. This way, administrators can schedule backup of the SAP database periodically.

The measures made by this test are as follows:

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
BkUp Indicates the number of days elapsed since the last backup of the entire SAP database. Days A sudden/gradual increase in the value of this measure indicates that the backup has not been done in the recent past. This may lead to data loss.

This measure is therefore a good indicator to alert administrators to schedule database backups periodically.
