Measures reported by RADLBFanTest

If the fan supported by the load balancer is unplugged or if it fails to operate for some reason, then without the cooling services provided by the fan, the load balancer may experience an abnormal rise in temperature. This can cause the core hardware components of the load balancer to suffer irreparable damage. To avoid this, administrators should promptly detect and rapidly fix fan-related abnormalities. The Fan Status test helps administrators here!

This test periodically checks the fan status and promptly alerts administrators to the abnormal status of the fan.

Outputs of the test : One set of results for the Radware Alteon load balancer being monitored.

The measures made by this test are as follows:

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
fanStatus Indicates the current status of the fan.   The values that this measure can report and their corresponding numeric values are as follows:

Measure Value Numeric Value
Not relevant 0
ok 1
Unplug 3
Failed 4

Note:

By default, this measure reports the Measure Values discussed in the table above to indicate the status of the fan. In the graph of the measure however, the fan status is indicated using the corresponding numeric equivalents only.
