Network Devices - Metric View

This page appears upon clicking the icon available in the Network Devices page. The page that appears, provides you deep insights into critical performance metrics of a particular component type. The critical perfromance metrics of the component type are mapped to different layers and different tests. Instead of taking the longer layer-test-measure route, you can easily pick and view the metrics of your interest using this page.

To view the measures of your choice, first select Component Type/Zones/Segments/Services from the Filter by list based on which you wish to filter the component.

If you have chosen the Component Type from the Filter by list, then, all the component types managed in you infrastructure will be populated in the Component Type drop down. Now, you can select a particular component type of your choice from the Component Type drop down.

To add the measures of the chosen component type, click icon. The SETTINGS drop down window will then appear using which you can configure the measures of your choice.

First specify whether you need to add or delete the measures by selecting the Add or Delete option from the Add/Delete Measures flag. Click the Add option for adding the measures. Then, select the component type from the Component type drop down. This will list the layers of the chosen component type in the Layer list. Now, selecting a particular layer from the Layer list will populate the tests associated with the chosen layer in the Test list.

Then, select the test that reports measures of your choice from the Test list. Now, all the measures pertaining to the chosen test will be listed in the Measure list. To include the measures, select the measures from the Measure list, and provide the name for the measure in the Display Name text box.

Next, indicate whether the chosen test is descriptor based or not using the Does the Test have Descriptors? flag. If the test have descriptors, then set the Does the Test have Descriptors? flag to Yes. This will invoke the Function flag using which you can aggregate the measure values across all descriptors using a specific aggregate function.

Finally click Add button to add the measures. Doing so ensures that the network components along with the chosen measures will be displayed for the selected component type.

Similarly, you can remove a measure. For this purpose, set the Add/Delete Measures flag to Delete, select the Component Type to which the measure to be deleted pertains, select the Test reporting the measure, select the Measure to be deleted, and finally, click the Delete button.

To zoom into the performance of a particular network component, simply click on the component name. This will lead you to the layer model, tests, and measurements related to that component. This page also provides a wide variety of search options using which you can selectively view the measure of your choice.

Likewise, you can view the measures of the particular component type which is a part of the Zones/Segments/Services. For this, you need to select the Zones/Segments/Services option from the Filter by list, and pick a Zones/Segments/Services of your interest from the Zones/Segments/Services list.
