Measures reported by F9iUserTest

This test reports general statistics pertaining to the usage of an Oracle Forms server.

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
Forms_req_rate The rate of requests to the Forms server for a particular database user Reqs/Sec A high value may indicate that there is a heavy load on the Forms server
Db_req_rate The rate of requests to be database for a particular database user Reqs/Sec A high value may indicate that there is a heavy load on the database server
Client_network_resp_time This value includes the client think time and the network time.   Secs This value can be impacted by an increase in network traffic and change in client behavior.
Forms_server_resp_time The average time taken by the server to process requests from a particular database user Secs  A sudden increase in response time is indicative of a heavy network traffic.
Db_resp_time The average time taken in the database tier to handle requests from a specific database user  Secs A sudden increase in response time is indicative of a potential performance bottleneck on the database server.
No_of_sessions The total number of Forms sessions running for a particular database user currently Number
Avg_session_duration Average duration of the current Forms sessions for a particular database user Mins
Memory_util The percentage of memory currently utilized by the Forms processes corresponding to a particular database user Percent A sudden increase in memory utilization for a process may be indicative of memory leaks in the application.
Cpu_util The percentage of CPU time utilized by the Forms processes corresponding to a particular database user Percent A very high value could indicate that the processes are consuming excessive CPU resources. Comparing this value across users helps to identify the most resource consuming users of the system.

Note:

Before attempting to monitor a Forms server, ensure that its tracing capability is enabled. To know how to enabling tracing for a Forms server, refer to the section on "Configuring Oracle Forms Servers" in the eG Installation Guide.
