Measures reported by HPEvaEncEmuTest

The EMU provides increased protection against catastrophic failures. The EMU detects conditions such as failed power supplies, failed blowers, elevated temperatures, and external air sense faults and communicates these conditions to the storage system controllers. This test reports the current operational state of each enclosure EMU.

The measures made by this test are as follows:

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
Operational_state Indicates the current operational state of this EMU.   The table below displays the States that can be reported by this measure, and their numeric equivalents:

State Value
failed or bad 0
good, attention, normal 1
unknown, not available, notinstalled, not_present, unsupported, etc. 2

Note:

By default, this measure reports one of the States listed in the table above. The graph of this measure however will represent the operational state using the numeric equivalents - ‘0’ to ‘2’.

Failure_predict Indicates whether failure of this EMU has been predicted.   The table below displays the Responses that this measure can return, and their numeric equivalents:

Response Value
yes 0
no 1
unknown 2

Note:

By default, this measure reports one of the Responses listed in the table above. The graph of this measure however will represent the failure predicted using the numeric equivalents - ‘0’ to ‘2’.
