Measures reported by HPEvaDPortTest

Ports of type Device facilitate communication between the controller and the physical disk. Using this test, you can keep track of the overall health of and problems experienced by the individual device ports on an array controller.

The measures made by this test are as follows:

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
Port_status Indicates the status of this device port. Status The value 1 for this measure indicates that the port is up and the value 0 indicates the port is down.
Signal_loss_count Indicates the number of times signal losses have occurred on this port during the last measurement period. Number Ideally, this value should be 0.
Bad_char_rcvd Indicates the number of frames possessing invalid words that were received by this port during the last measurement period. Number Ideally, this value should be 0.
Synch_loss_count Indicates the number of times synchronization losses that occurred on this port during the last measurement period. Number Ideally, this value should be 0.
Link_fail_count Indicates the number of times link failures occurred on this port during the last measurement period. Number Ideally, this value should be 0.
EOF_rcvd_count Indicates the number of frames received with EOF delimiter during the last measurement period. Number Ideally, this value should be 0.
Discard_frames_count Indicates the number of frames discarded during the last measurement period. Number Ideally, this value should be 0.
Bad_CRC_count Indicates the number of frames received with invalid CRC during the last measurement period. Number Ideally, this value should be 0.
Proto_error_count Indicates the number of protocol errors that occurred during the last measurement period. Number Ideally, this value should be 0.
