Measures reported by XenMemDiskSpaceTest

The XenMemDiskSpaceTest reports the space usage of every volume group supported by the XenServer host.

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
Total_capacity Indicates the total capacity of this volume group GB

Total_physical_extent_size Indicates the number of physical extents on this volume group Number

Alloc_physical_extent_size Indicates the number of physical extents allocated to this volume group Number

Used_space Indicates the space used in this volume group GB A high value indicates excessive utilization of this volume group.

Disk_usage Indicates the percentage of space utilized on this volume group Percent Ideally, the value of this measure should be low. A high value is indicative of excessive utilization of the volume group. This in turn would result in fewer storage resources for the virtual machines, which in the long run can significantly affect guest performance.

Free_physical_extent_size Indicates the number of allocated extents that are still unused by this volume group Number Ideally, the value of this measure should be high.

Free_space Indicates the amount of free space on this volume group GB Ideally, the value of this measure should be high. A very low value indicates that the volume group is running out of space. You might then want to free some space on the volume or allocate more space to the volume.
