Measures reported by PrinterTest

The PrinterTest indicates the availability of the printer for printing. The measures generated by this test are discussed below:

Critical warning

This shows whether the printer is available for printing or not.
  If the printer is available, then the value of this measure is Yes. If the printer is not available, then the value of this measure is No.

The numeric values that correspond to these measure values have been listed in the table below:

Note:

By default, this measure reports the above-mentioned Measure Values while indicating whether a printer is available or not. However, in the graph of this measure, the Measure Values will be represented using their corresponding numeric equivalents only.

A printer could be rendered unavailable if its off the network. This could be due to the following reasons:

  • A Power shut-down

  • Failure of the network connection 

Similarly, a printer on the network can also become unavailable for printing. This could be owing to either of the following reasons:

  • The printer does not support SNMP 

  • The printer is in an "unknown" state
