Measures reported by EsxVoltMonTest

This test reports the current status of the voltage probes on the ESX server, and also reveals how much voltage each voltage probe handles.

The measures made by this test are as follows:

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
Status Indicates the current status of this voltage probe.   If the status cannot be determined, then Unknown will be displayed here. If the voltage unit is functioning in an error-free manner, then Normal will be displayed as the value of this measure. If a probable error condition is reported, then the status will be displayed as Warning. If a critical error condition is reported, then the status will beError.

The numeric values that correspond to each of the states discussed above are listed in the table below:

State Value
Unknown 0
Normal 1
Warning 2
Error 3

Note:

By default, this measure reports one of the States discussed in the table above. The graph of this measure however, represents the status of a voltage probe using the numeric equivalents - 0 to 3.

Volts Indicates the current voltage reading of this probe.  Volts  Compare the voltage readings registered by the units to accurately identify units that could be experiencing abnormal voltage. Such units might have to be subjected to closer observation to figure out the root-cause of the anomaly.
