Default Parameters for PureVolPerfTest For users to be able to read from/write data into volumes quickly, adequate space must be available in the volumes and the I/O requests should be processed rapidly by the volumes. Slowdowns in data storage/retrieval can be attributed to storage space contentions experienced by one/more volumes or I/O processing bottlenecks. In the event of such slowdowns, administrators need to swiftly isolate the following:
The PureVolPerfTest test provides accurate answers to these questions. With the help of these answers, you can quickly diagnose the root-cause of slowdowns when reading from/writing into a volume. This page depicts the default parameters that need to be configured for the PureVolPerfTest test.
When changing default configurations of tests, the values with “$” indicate variables that will be replaced by the eG system according to the specific server being managed - for instance, $hostName is the host/nickname of the target host, $port is the port number of the server being monitored. E.g., for a server xyz:80, $hostName will be changed automatically by the eG manager to “xyz*” and $port will be changed to “80” when configuring a test.
