Configuration of SolFireNodeTest

This test auto discovers the nodes of the target storage system and helps administrators to figure out the CPU utilization of each node, data transmission from and through the network interface and storage interface of the nodes, the throughput of the node, detect irregularities in the distribution of load across the nodes, analyze the memory utilization of each node and thus enables administrators to initiate pre-emptive measures when the load on the node increases abnormally.

The default parameters associated with this test are as follows:

  • The TEST PERIOD list box helps the user to decide how often this test needs to be executed.

  • Specify the IP address of the HOST for which the test is to be configured.

  • Specify the PORT at which server listens.

  • Specify the API version of the SolidFire storage system to be monitored in SOLIDFIRE API VERSION textbox.

  • Provide the credentials of a user who has been assigned with a Monitor role to access the SolidFire storage system in the SOLIDFIRE USERNAME and SOLIDFIRE PASSWORD text boxes.

  • Confirm the SOLIDFIRE PASSWORD by retyping it in the CONFIRM PASSWORD text box.

  • Once the necessary values have been provided, clicking on the UPDATE button will register the changes made.

When changing the configuration for specific servers, a “*” beside the text box corresponding to the parameter signifies that these values have to be manually configured by the user. The parameter values that require to be configured will typically be prefixed with a “$” or contain a series of “*”. A value of “none” in the parameter value indicates that the corresponding parameter value can be changed if required.
