Default Parameters for CtxXcXDCatalogTest

This test auto-discovers the catalogs managed by the XenDesktop site being monitored, and reports useful statistics related to each catalog, which reveal:

  • The catalog type;
  • The type of desktops allocated to each catalog;
  • The availability, usage, and assignment of desktops in each catalog

This page depicts the default parameters that need to be configured for the CtxXcXDCatalogTest.

  • The TEST PERIOD list box helps the user to decide how often this test needs to be executed.

  • In order to monitor the Delivery Controller 7, eG requires a special user with the following privileges;

    • The All scope and read-only privileges

    • The Allow log on locally security privilege on the Delivery Controller host

    To know the steps for assigning such privileges to a user, click here are discussed. Specify the name of such a user, in the USERNAME text box.

  • Specify the password for the user specified in the USERNAME text box, in the PASSWORD text box.

  • Confirm the password by retyping it in the CONFIRM PASSWORD text box.

  • In the DOMAIN text box, specify the domain to which the user specified in the USERNAME text box belongs to.

  • By default, the REPORT BY MACHINE TYPE flag is set to Yes indicating that the individual descriptors of this test - i.e., the catalogs - are classified based on their machine type; in other words, the catalogs will be listed either under Windows Client OS or Windows Server OS based on their machine type. If you do not want to group the catalogs based on their machine types, set this flag to No.

  • Once the necessary values have been provided, clicking on the Update button will register the changes made.

When changing default configurations of tests, the values with “$” indicate variables that will be replaced by the eG system according to the specific server being managed - for instance, $hostName is the host/nickname of the target host, $port is the port number of the server being monitored. E.g., for a server xyz:80, $hostName will be changed automatically by the eG manager to “xyz” and $port will be changed to “80” when configuring a test.
