Default Parameters for UspLdevDetailsTest

To identify the Ldev Details information. If the monitor data shows overall high logical volume usage, you should consider installing additional hardware (e.g., HDDs, disk adapters, cache). If the monitor data shows the imbalance usage of the volume, you can use Volume Migration to migrate high-usage volumes to higher HDD classes and/or to lower-usage parity groups.

This test is used to identify the I/O activity, and overall health of the Ldev Details.

This page depicts the default parameters that need to be configured for the UspLdevDetailsTest.

  • The TEST PERIOD list box helps the user to decide how often this test needs to be executed. 

  • In the HOST text box, the host name of the server for which the test is to be configured has to be specified.
  • In the PORT text box, mention the port at which the specified HOST listens.
  • The test should be configured with the credentials of a special user account, which is specifically created for use with the export utility; this account should fulfill the following conditions:

    • Should not possess the 'write' permission;
    • Can be of any user type; however, to ensure that the eG agent collects statistics pertaining to all storage partitions, it is recommended that this user is of type storage administrator;
    Provide the credentials of this user against the USERID and PASSWORD parameters. Confirm the password by retyping it in the CONFIRM PASSWORD text box.
  • In the TIMEOUT text box, specify the maximum duration (in seconds) for which the test will wait for a response from the server. The default timeout period is 3 seconds.

  • Once the above value is provided, click on the Update button to register the changes made.
