Adding new alarm policy

The eG Enterprise system allows users to add new alarm policies in addition to the four pre-defined alarm policies. In the ALARM POLICY pop up window, the name of the policy has to be entered against the Alarm Policy text box. The number of consecutive measurements that should be taken into account to determine the current state of a measurement should be given as the value for the Measurements Window parameter. The Number of Violations parameter indicates the minimum number of measurements which when abnormal, change the state to bad.

For example, assume that the Measurements Window is 4 and the Number of Violations is 2. This signifies that for every 4 measurements generated by the agent, if 2 of them cross the specified threshold limits, then the state of the measurement changes to abnormal.

The Add button as always enables the user to register these values.

Modifying existing alarm policy

The administrator has a provision to change the settings of an existing alarm policy using this page that can be reached through the icon beside the policy in the POLICY NAME list. The default Measurements Window and the Number of Violations are displayed and the necessary changes to the current values can be made.

The changes made can be registered using the Update button.
