Default
Parameters for SybSpaceTest
The SybSpaceTest reports the space usage of all the Sybase databases. This page depicts the
default parameters that need to be configured for the SybSpaceTest.
-
The TEST PERIOD
list box helps the user to decide how often this test needs to be
executed.
Note:
Frequent execution of this test could cause the MS SQL server to incur high operational overheads, especially when the load on the server is very high. In such circumstances, it is recommended that you set a high TEST PERIOD (say, 30 minutes) for this test.
-
To enable this test to connect to the Sybase server and collect the required metrics, it is enough if you configure the test with the name of a Sybase user who has the “mon_role” and “sa_role” credentials in the USER text box. However, for best results, it is recommended that you configure all Sybase tests with the credentials of a Sybase user who has the “mon_role”, “sa_role”, and “sybase_ts_role”.
-
The
password corresponding to the above user has to be entered in the PASSWORD
text box.
-
Confirm
the password by retyping it in the CONFIRM PASSWORD text
box.
-
Specify the databases that you wish to monitor in the INCLUDE DB text box. By default, this is set to all.
-
Specify the databases that you wish to exclude from the scope of monitoring in the EXCLUDE DB text box. By default, this is set to none.
-
Once the
necessary
values have been provided, clicking on the UPDATE button will
register the changes made.
When changing default configurations of tests, the values with "$" indicate variables that will be replaced by the eG system according to the specific server being managed - for instance, $hostName is the host/nickname of the target host, $port is the port number of the server being monitored. E.g., for a server xyz:80, $hostName will be changed automatically by the eG manager to "xyz" and $port will be changed to "80" when configuring a test.
