Configuration of StormSupSumTest Using this test, administrators can identify the number of available CPU cores, the total memory used by the CPU and the available worker slots in the Supervisor node of the target Apache Storm. Any aberrant condition of memory usage will alert the administrators to take remedial measures before users start complaining. Administrators may schedule periodic reboots of the Supervisor nodes. By knowing that a specific node has been up for an unusually long time, an administrator may come to know that the scheduled reboot task is not working on a node. This test included in the eG agent also monitors the uptime of critical nodes. This page depicts the default parameters that need to be configured for the StormSupSumTest test.
When changing the configuration for specific servers, a “*” beside the text box corresponding to the parameter signifies that these values have to be manually configured by the user. The parameter values that require to be configured will typically be prefixed with a “$” or contain a series of “*”. A value of “none” in the parameter value indicates that the corresponding parameter value can be changed if required.
