Default Parameters for CtxGwThroughputTest

When users complain of slowness of the target connector, administrators should first check the throughput of the appliance. Throughput reveals how well/badly the target connector processes network traffic. Low throughput is indicative of a traffic processing bottleneck, which can cause users to experience slowness when interacting with the target connector. To receive real-time insights into the throughput of the target connector, administrators can use the CtxGwThroughputTest. This test measures the throughput of the target connector in real-time and alerts administrators if the throughput is low. Additionally, the test also reveals where the bottleneck is - when processing incoming network traffic? or outgoing network traffic?

This page depicts the default parameters that need to be configured for the CtxGwThroughputTest.

  • The TEST PERIOD list box helps the user to decide how often this test needs to be executed.

  • To monitor a Citrix Cloud Gateway Connector, the eG agent should be configured with the credentials of a user with read-only privileges to the target connector. Specify the credentials of such a user in the USERNAME and PASSWORD text boxes.

  • Confirm the password by retyping it in CONFIRM PASSWORD text box.

  • By default, the SSL flag is set to No indicating that the eG agent will communicate with the connector via HTTP by default. If the target connector is SSL-enabled, then set this flag to Yes to enable the eG agent to communicate with target connector via HTTPS.

  • Once the necessary values have been provided, clicking on the UPDATE button will register the changes made.

When changing default configurations of tests, the values with “$” indicate variables that will be replaced by the eG system according to the specific server being managed - for instance, $hostName is the host/nickname of the target host, $port is the port number of the server being monitored. E.g., for a server xyz:80, $hostName will be changed automatically by the eG manager to “xyz*” and $port will be changed to “80” when configuring a test.
