Default Parameters for CtxLogonSimCkTest

For a logon simulator to perform logon simulation, it is essential for the user to establish a user session by logging into the logon simulation endpoint at all times. Sometimes, the logon simulation endpoint may be down or the user may face connectivity issues to the logon simulation endpoint. During such circumstances, the logon simulator may stop the simulation process. When the simulation stops, administrators should quickly troubleshoot and resolve the issue at the earliest. To aid administrators in this regard, eG Enterprise offers the CtxLogonSimCkTest.

By closely monitoring the logon simulation endpoint, this test reports whether/not the user session on the endpoint is active.

This page depicts the default parameters that need to be configured for the CtxLogonSimCkTest.

  • The TEST PERIOD list box helps the user to decide how often this test needs to be executed. The default is 15 minutes.

  • The simulator needs to run in the account of a user who has local administrator rights on the simulation end point - i.e., the system on which the external agent and the Citrix Workspace App have been installed. Specify the name of this user in the RECEIVER CONSOLE USERNAME text box. This user should also be logged in at all times for the simulator to run continuously.

  • If the user specified in Receiver Console Username belongs to a domain, specify the name of the domain in the RECEIVER CONSOLE DOMAIN text box. By default, none is specified against this text box.

  • Once the necessary values have been provided, clicking on the UPDATE button will register the changes made.

When changing default configurations of tests, the values with “$” indicate variables that will be replaced by the eG system according to the specific server being managed - for instance, $hostName is the host/nickname of the target host, $port is the port number of the server being monitored. E.g., for a server xyz:80, $hostName will be changed automatically by the eG manager to “xyz*” and $port will be changed to “80” when configuring a test.
