Default Parameters for HrznGtwySessTest

The HrznGtwySessTest test tracks user sessions to the gateway appliance and discovers the count of different type of sessions handled by the appliance, in terms of the protocol used - eg., PCoIP sessions, RDP sessions, Blast sessions etc. The test also reports the sessions that were terminated and those sessions that failed. In addition, this test also reveals the unique users and unique clients who have initiated the sessions through the gateway appliance. The detailed diagnostics of this test reveals indepth insights into the sessions initiated by the user. With the help of this test, administrators can quickly determine which type of sessions were frequently initiated by the users - is it the PCoIP sessions? or Blast session? or RDP session? or Desktop sessions? or Application sessions?.

This page depicts the default parameters that need to be configured for HrznGtwySessTest.

  • The TEST PERIOD list box helps the user to decide how often this test needs to be executed.

  • The eG agent connects to the HTTP/S URL of a connection server, and in the process, reports the availability and responsiveness of that server. To establish this connection and report metrics, the eG agent requires read-only permissions. Therefore, configure the credentials of a read-only user in the USERNAME and PASSWORD textboxes. Confirm the PASSWORD by retyping it in the CONFIRM PASSWORD text box.

  • By default, the SSL flag is set to Yes, as the target application is SSL-enabled. In case the appliance is not SSL-enabled, then set this flag to No.

  • Once the above values are provided, click on the UPDATE button to register the changes made.

When changing default configurations of tests, the values with “$” indicate variables that will be replaced by the eG system according to the specific server being managed - for instance, $hostName is the host/nickname of the target host, $port is the port number of the server being monitored. E.g., for a server xyz:80, $hostName will be changed automatically by the eG manager to “xyz*” and $port will be changed to “80” when configuring a test.
