Measures reported by F5VirtualSvrTest

Every physical server in a server pool is referenced by BIG-IP using one/more virtual servers. A Virtual Server is a combination of virtual address and virtual port, associated with a content site that is managed by a BIG-IP system. When the load balancer receives requests from clients it routes them to servers in the pool using these virtual servers. This test monitors the status of and traffic on every virtual server configured on the BIG-IP.

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
Status Whether this virtual server is active or inactive Number While the value 0 indicates that the virtual server is inactive, 1 indicates that it is active.
Incoming_traffic The rate at which requests are routed through this virtual server. Mbps An abnormally high rate of incoming traffic may require additional analysis.
Outgoing_traffic The rate at which responses from the servers are transmitted by this virtual server Mbps An abnormally high rate of outgoing traffic may require additional analysis.
In_packet_rate The number of packets received per second routed to the physical server(s) in the pool through this virtual server Packets/Sec
Out_packet_rate The number of packets sent out per second sent out through this virtual server Packets/Sec
Current_connections Indicates the number of connections currently established via this virtual server Number
Connection_rate The rate at which connections have been established via this virtual server Conns/Sec
