Fan provides cooling airflow to various components of switch, specially the CPU which produces a large quantities of heat.Optimal operation of fan is key to channelling the heat out of the system and keeping the switch temperature with operable range. That's the reason it is very important to monitor the fan to ensue that it is workign fine and catch if there is any problem before the switch circuit is damaged due to heat.

This test monitors the fan by reading the fan speed and fan status, keeping an eye on this, administrators will have enough time to act if fan is malfunctioning.

Outputs of the test: One set of result for each fan in Mellanox switch.
