Measures reported by IBMDPRaidTest

If the partition on the hardware RAID is in low disk space, you may want to rebuild the RAID hard drive with a larger one. In that case, you need to backup the data, delete all RAID partitions, recreate the RAID hard drive and restore the data again. It is a time-consuming task and data lose may occur in the process. So it is essential for administrators to track the capacity and usage of each RAID partition on the storage system to figure out whether enough disk space is available in all RAIDs to support the storage requirements of this device. This test auto-discovers the RAIDs on the target device, and reports the space usage and space availability of each Raids so that, you can instantly identify the Raids that are running out of space.

Outputs of the test : One set of results for the Raid being monitored.

The measures made by this test are as follows:

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
Total_size Indicates the total size of this Raid. MB
Used_space Indicates the amount of space that is currently used on this Raid. MB A low value is desired for this measure.
Free_space Indicates the amount of space that is available for storing data on this Raid. MB A high value is desired for this measure.
Raid_usage Indicates the percentage of space used on this Raid. Percent If the value of this measure is close to 100%, it is indicative of a storage bottleneck.
