Measures reported by AtsOutputStatTest

APC Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) has two input power cords (serves as primary and secondary sources) supplying power to the connected loads (phase of the power supply). If the primary source becomes unavailable or out of the selected range, the ATS will seamlessly source power from the secondary source without interrupting critical loads. This test helps the administrator to monitor the output load of the ATS device, so they can proactively detect overload conditions that can cause irreparable damage to equipments connected to the switch. Also, in the event of an overload, the administrator can use this test to determine what is causing the overall output load to increase abnormally - is it a sudden voltage spike? a power surge? or an unexpected increase in the amount of current that is output by the device?

Outputs of the test :One set of results for the target APC Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) that is to be monitored.

The measures made by this test are as follows:

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
Phase_state Indicates the condition of the output load from the ATS device.   The values reported by this measure and its numeric equivalents are mentioned in the table below:

Measure Value Numeric Value
Normal 1
Low load 2
Never overload 3
Overload 4

Note:

By default, this measure reports the Measure Values listed in the table above to indicate the condition of the output load from the ATS device. The graph of this measure however, represents the status using the numeric equivalents only-1 to 4.

Output_voltage Indicates the voltage output of the ATS device. Volts The value of this measure should be in the permissible range.
Output_current Indicates how much current flowing out of the ATS device. Amps The value of this measure should be in the permissible range.
Output_power Indicates how much power flowing out of the ATS device. Watts The value of this measure should be in the permissible range.
Output_load Indicates the load output of the ATS device. Watts The value of this measure should be in the permissible range. It is measured in Volt-Ampere.
