Measures reported by EgMailTrackTest

By default, the eG manager alerts administrators regarding abnormalities that arise in their environment through Emails and SMS messages. In environments where eG Enterprise monitors a large number of components, it is impossible for administrators to manually track whether/not the mails/messages have been successfully delivered to the designated recipients. To aid administrators track the delivery of emails/messages with ease, eG Enterprise offers the EgMailTrackTest. 

This test tracks the Email/SMS message communication from the eG manager and reports the total count of emails and messages sent. This way, this test reveals the mail/messages traffic handled by the eG manager. The test further reveals the count of mails/messages that failed, thus promptly alerting administrators to mail delivery failures. Using this test, administrators can figure out the mail threads that were utilized for sending mails from the eG manager. In the process, this test also reveals the average and maximum time taken for sending out mails.

Last_sms_status Indicates the status of last SMS that was sent by the eG manager.   The numeric values that correspond to the measure values are as follows:

Total_sent_mails Indicates the total number of mails sent from the eG manager. Number The detailed diagnosis of this measure reveals the IP address of the manager, name of the user, description about alarms, mail ID of the recipient, status of the mail delivery, time at which the mail was sent, time taken to send the mail and exception (if any).
Total_failed_mails Indicates the number of mails that the eG manager failed to send. Number The detailed diagnosis of this measure lists the details related to the mails that failed. It reveals the IP address of the manager, name of the user, description about alarms, mail ID of the recipient, status of the mail delivery, time at which the mail was sent, time taken to send the mail and exception (if any).
Total_sent_sms Indicates the total number of SMS messages from the eG manager. Number The detailed diagnosis of this measure reveals the IP address of the manager, name of the user, description about alarms, the recipient, status of the SMS delivery, time at which the SMS was sent, time taken to send the SMS and exception (if any).
Total_failed_sms Indicates the number of SMS messages that the eG manager failed to send. Number The detailed diagnosis of this measure lists the details related to the SMS messages that failed. It reveals the IP address of the manager, name of the user, description about alarms, the recipient, status of the SMS delivery, time at which the SMS was sent, time taken to send the SMS and exception (if any).
Total_esc_sent_mails Indicates the number escalation mails sent from the eG manager. Number The detailed diagnosis of this measure reveals the IP address of the manager, name of the user, description about alarms, mail ID of the recipient, status of the escalation mail delivery, time at which the mail was sent, time taken to send the mail and exception (if any).
Total_esc_failed_mails Indicates the number of escalation mails that the eG manager failed to send. Number The detailed diagnosis of this measure lists the details related to the escalation mails that failed. It reveals the IP address of the manager, name of the user, description about alarms, mail ID of the recipient, status of the mail delivery, time at which the mail was sent, time taken to send the mail and exception (if any).
Avg_time_to_send_mail Indicates the average time taken for sending mails. ms  
Max_time_to_send_mail Indicates the maximum time taken for sending mails. ms Ideally, the value of this measure should be very low.
Mail_max_threads_allocated Indicates the number of threads allocated for sending mails. Number  
Mail_thread_util Indicates the percentage of threads utilized for sending the mails. Percent  
Mail_manager_busy_percent Indicates the percentage of time for which the mail server was busy sending mails. Percent A low value is preferred for this measure.
