Measures reported by WVDFSLogAppsEvtTest

The Azure Virtual Desktop service recommends FSLogix profile containers as a user profile solution. FSLogix is designed to roam profiles in remote computing environments, such as Azure Virtual Desktop. It stores a complete user profile in a single container. At sign in, this container is dynamically attached to the computing environment using natively supported Virtual Hard Disk (VHD) and Hyper-V Virtual Hard disk (VHDX). The user profile is immediately available and appears in the system exactly like a native user profile.

Issues in profile loading and unloading can significantly impact user experience with an Azure virtual desktop. To promptly capture and resolve such issues, one needs to use the FSLogix Event Logs. On every session host in an AVD host pool, FSLogix creates and utilizes an Event Log. By periodically running the WVDFSLogAppsEvtTest test, administrators can keep an eye out for current or potential problem conditions related to FSLogix profile containers, and swoop down on them as and when they are logged in the Event Log. Using the detailed diagnostics, administrators can closely study the logged error/warning messages, perform effective root-cause analytics, and accordingly initiate corrective action.

The measures made by this test are as follows:

Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation
Critical_count This refers to the number of critical FSLogix error events that were generated. Number A critical event is one that an application cannot automatically recover from - eg., FSLogix container failures, failure to load/unload profiles etc.

An increasing trend or high value for this measure indicates the existence of irrepairable/fatal problems.

The detailed diagnosis of this measure describes all the critical FSLogix events that were generated during the last measurement period. Please check the Event Log Viewer for more details.
Error_count Indicates the number of less-critical or non-critical FSLogix error events that were. Number Ideally, the value of this measure should be 0 or very low.
Information_count This refers to the number of FSLogix information events generated when the test was last executed. Number Track the variations to this measure to understand how frequently user profiles were loaded/unloaded.

Please check the Event Log Viewer for more details.
Warning_count This refers to the number of FSLogix warnings that were generated when the test was last executed. Number A high value of this measure indicates problems that may not have an immediate impact, but may cause future problems.

Please check the Event Log Viewer for more details.
Verbose_count Indicates the number of verbose events that were generated when the test was last executed. Number Verbose logging provides more details in the log entry, which will enable you to troubleshoot issues better.

The detailed diagnosis of this measure describes all the FSLogix verbose events that were generated during the last measurement period.

Please check the Event Log Viewer for more details.
