Measures reported by CisSDWDiskTest
The software-only components of the Cisco SD-WAN appliance run as a separate VM on servers. These components are therefore allocated with resources such as CPU, Disk and Memory. If any component is running out of disk space or if the disk allocated to that component is disabled, then, there would be an unprecedented interruption in the functioning of those components. To avoid such unwanted interruptions, administrators should be intimated of the disabled disk and space crunch promptly. This will help administrators enable the disk and enhance the disk space allocated to the components well before service levels start taking a turn for the worse!
This test periodically checks the status of each disk allocated to the component and the disk space usage. This test proactively alerts administrators to potential disk space contentions. This would help administrators amend issues before performance of the component deteriorates.
Outputs of the test : One set of results for each component of the target Cisco SD-WAN being monitored.
The measures made by this test are as follows:
| Measurement |
Description |
Measurement Unit |
Interpretation |
| Disk_status |
Indicates the current status of the disk allocated to this component. |
|
The measure values that this test can report and their corresponding numeric values are listed in the table below:
| Measure Value |
Numeric Value |
| Disabled |
0 |
| Enabled |
1 |
Note:
By default, this measure reports the above-mentioned Measure Values listed in the table to indicate the current status of disk for each component. The graph of this measure however is represented using the numeric equivalents i.e., 0 or 1. |
| Total_size |
Indicates the total size of the disk that is allocated to this component. |
GB |
|
| Used_size |
Indicates the amount of disk space utilized by this component. |
GB |
A value close to Total size measure value is a cause of concern in this case. Administrators should figure out this and add additional resources if necessary for each component. |
| Free_size |
Indicates the amount of disk space that is available for use by this component. |
GB |
|
| Disk_utilization |
Indicates the percentage of disk space utilized by this component. |
Percent |
A value close to 100 indicates that the components are facing severe space crunch. Administrators need to analyze such space constraints and add additional disk space as and when required.
Compare the value of this measure across components to identify the component that is facing potential space crunch. |
